Marie and Boyet
I absolutely love shooting weddings for friends.
I’ve known Boyet for… it must be 8 or 9 years now. He was one of the vocalists for our Ukecandoitman ukulele band back in the day. The best thing about shooting friends is I get to learn so much more about them during their wedding day. I had no idea how much Boyet wears his emotions on his sleeves. It was so sweet to see how madly in love with Marie he is.
Marie definitely crushed her wedding. She was finalizing wedding details while drinking a mimosa and getting her hair and makeup done all at the same time! She was also surrounded by some of the rowdiest bridesmaids and bridesmen I’ve hung out with. Somehow, she was able to get everyone where they needed to be and we all had the best time.
Boyet absolutely lost it when he first saw Marie walking down the aisle. This was my first wedding with a church ceremony since the pandemic started. Seeing the church half-empty with everyone wearing masks was almost post-apocalyptic. Although the church felt bare, it was more intimate with a smaller crowd, which I really enjoyed.
We travelled around Philadelphia once the couple was officially hitched. Making stops at the Art Museum, City Hall and the site of their first date – the Franklin Institute. City Center Philly was beautiful at that time of day, adding a little something to their photos. Their reception happened inside of a Gazebo at Washington Lake Park Trail. Afterwards, I was having so much fun, I followed them to their afterparty at Villari’s.
Enjoy.
